Daphne Johnson was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. She is an HBCU alum, having graduated from Clark Atlanta University in. Daphne’s first introduction to living abroad was when she participated in a semester-long study abroad program in 2008. She immediately fell in love with being immersed in foreign environments.
She’s now been living abroad for twelve years and has traveled to over 60 countries, having lived in five including Italy, South Korea, Australia, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia. Professionally, Daphne moonlights as a primary school teacher and has taught at some of the top international schools around the world.
She is an illustrator, bibliophile, bartender and business owner who recently launched Spines and Spirit Atlanta, a concept bookstore, bar and community based organization.
